Resumen

The chapter analyzes the limits and possibilities of feminist ethnography with two central objectives. First is to address the relationship between scientific objectivity, androcentrism, and the epistemological constitution of the relationship between the “Self” and “Others” in anthropology. Second is to analyze how to establish dialogues with the people we interview, assuming the political dimension of their identities and agency. The text begins by defining feminist ethnography and establishing epistemological precautions regarding its limits. Then it discusses the relationship between scientific objectivity and otherness, observing its articulation with the naturalization of androcentric perspectives in ethnography. In addition, it analyzes how to establish an intersubjective dialogue in interviews without falling into naive perspectives on the possibility of “empowering” people.
