Resumen
A dramaturgical and ethnohistorical analysis is made of the work El Cautivo, performed by dancers of Moreno, chunchos, and diablo dances at the La Tirana festival. The screenplay and staging reflect the theological dialectic compositions of the auto-sacramental and the dramatic structures of the battles between the Moors and Christians. These theatrical expressions are observed in festive religious contexts where indigenous and Afro-descendant identities metaphorically represent themselves by proclaiming their conversion and redemption.
