Resumen
The article describes the social responsibility initiatives of two private universities in Chile and how these are incorporated into their strategic processes. The main objective is to identify opportunities and constraints in which a university could take advantage of its social advocacy role. The exploratory research was built on the basis of literature and experience, through observation and participation in the private higher education system. Results show that a university can achieve a competitive advantage if it maximizes its contributions to social causes, which pays off in greater visibility over time.
