Primeras aproximaciones al estudio de migrantes italianos en el nuevo espacio de frontera chileno-peruana post guerra del pacífico (1880 y 1929)

The goal of this paper is to present preliminary notes on the re-lationship generated between the State of Chile and the Italian pop-ulation, residing in the new post-Pacific War Chilean-Peruvian bor-der, especially the interaction with the legality imposed in the pro-cess called 'chilenización' of formerly Peruvian territory. Through the review of personal, institutional, and official archives, the im-portance of Italian migrant networks is revealed in the face of the new institutional framework, in a time of political uncertainty.
