Resumen
The preferential adsorption behavior of poly(vinylpyrrolidone) in binary solvents containing aromatic isomeric components was studied. 2-Propanol-cumene, 2-propanol-mesitylene, 2-propanol-p-xylene, 2-propanol-ethylbenzene and 2-propanol-toluene were chosen in order to investigate both the role played by the interaction involved in binary solvents and the steric effects of the solutes. Here, one is concerned with the influence of the chemical structure of different binary solvents in the preferential adsorption of one of the polymers. The results appear to show that changes in two parameters (d or w(visc)) which characterize the mixed solvent influence the aromatic compound preferential adsorption by the polymer. 32 refs.
