Resumen
The article examines perceptions of the crisis in Tacna post-captivity (1929-1934) through local press. Local views on the impact of the global crisis are reconstructed, along with their demands to the government and economic proposals to address issues such as unemployment, dependency on Arica, and lack of infrastructure. The conclusion is that the context was influenced by the crisis of Leguía's Oncenio, the fall in export prices, and austerity policies. In Tacna, this was manifested in the closure of the main bank, rising prices, and state neglect. These factors manifested in Tacna through the closure of the main bank, the increase in prices, and the lack of attention from the State.
