Resumen
The study aimed to design and validate a specific instrument to measure well-being on Lickan-antay (Atacameño) population of Chile. In the qualitative phase 16 people belonging to the ethnic group participated. In the validation judgment by expert phase participated five lickan-antay subjects (leaders and non-leaders), two researchers on ‘good living’, two researchers on well-being, an anthropologist expert in the lickan-antay culture, and a psychologist, doctor in anthropology. In the psychometric validation phase, 250 Lickan-antay subjects participated, of which 37.8% were men and 62.2% women, with an average age of 47.2 years (SD= 16.5). In the psychometric evaluation of the proposed 5-di-mensional scale, a Cronbach's α >0.9 was obtained for the entire scale and for each of the subscales. The goodness of fit indexes gave an adequate model fit. It is concluded that the scale meets the appropriate psychometric properties to be used as a measure of well-being among the lickan-antay people.
