Resumen
With this paper we intend to make known the school camps that existed in Northern Chile in the late 1920s. The school camps were understood as preventative institutions focusing on hygiene and education, seeking to benefit the most disadvantaged children from existing public schools in the region. They were also the effective means to remedy the problem of children abandoned by society.
