Resumen

The forms of boron in the soil, the distribution and physicalchemical behavior are associated with its reactivity to the soil. Knowledge of this information is important for understanding the interaction of the element with plants. The boron in the arid soil of Liuta's valley, comes in five forms, according to Hou's design. Such forms are: easily soluble, specifically adsorbed, tied to oxides, tied to organic materials, and residual. The aim of this work was to analyze thirteen samples of soil differentiated by drainage, each one in two consecutive depths from the surface, making twenty-six samples. Every sample had its boron separated out by means of its interaction with a specific chemical reagent in a batch system. Each sample was analyzed for the content of total boron and the assimilable portion of boron using the quantification of the element by the azometina-H method. It can be concluded from these studies that it is possible that the predominant forms oforon in the soil are easily soluble and specifically adsorbed. The five forms of boron are distributed in similar proportion across the two depths of the soil.
