Resumen
The issue of leadership leaves no one indifferent; this constitutes a fundamental pillar to properly achieve the organizational goals; reason enough to study it profusely. This research aims to identify the differences in the leadership style (transformational, transactional or laissez faire) attributed to a set of union leaders belonging to the Confederation of Metalworkers, Industry and Service “Industrial Chile Constramet” of the Metropolitan Region, a study that is intended to be carried out from a gender perspective. Taking this variable into account, descriptive statistical analyzes (frequency, percentage, arithmetic mean, standard deviation) and inferential statistical analyzes were carried out using the t test for independent samples. In general terms, it is found that women perceive themselves as transformational leaders to a greater extent than their male colleagues.
