Resumen
The colonial petroglyphs of the Chillaiza II feature figures of harpists in a performative pose. Their attire and aesthetic lines resemble those of harpists portrayed in the frescoes of the Pachama church and other iconographies. Working with ethnohistoric and musicological materials, the paper docu-ments the circulation of harps among the doctrines and churches of Arica and Tarapacá in the context of colonial evangelization, analyzing the role of local indigenous communities in festivities and their musical instrumentation.
