title = "Effect of forced aeration on certain parameters of crop tomato by substrate culture",
abstract = "Root aeration is an important parameter for good growth of the whole plant. In this experiment, three different substrates were used, one organic: coconut coir waste fibre, and two inorganic: perlite and rockwool. In each substrate two treatments were applied, T0 with no air forced, and T1 with air forced at the bottom of the crop bag, which was only performed at midday and for half an hour. The results suggest that no important differences occurred. Some fertigation parameters were affected using forced aeration in the root zone in soilless culture, and that some of these differences depend on the nature of the substrate.",
