Resumen
This essay proposes interculturalism as a concept that revokes the monocultural structure imposed by the Nation-State, and complicates the relationship between culture, identity and migration that organize social life. Intercultural education in the process of humanization of tertiary education students is discussed, underlining academic performance as the pivotal variable that does not favor the sociocultural and transitional considerations present in the students hosted by the University of Tarapacá, Chile. Finally, a critical reflection is made about the literature used in educational processes that marginalizes intercultural humanizing, transition, adaptation and sociocultural aspects, necessary for intercultural education.
