Resumen

This chapter incorporates various research carried out in Latin America and the Caribbean region that consider psychological well-being in the adult population as the main variable. The reported research results were categorized into various sections to facilitate their understanding. The abundant evidence in the educational field is highlighted, especially in the university population about factors associated with well-being, mainly linked to the sphere of the teaching-learning process. There is less evidence in specific groups of growing interest, such as migrants and older adults. The information found strengthens the need to expand studies of psychological well-being and its associated factors in the general population, as well as the move toward reviewing this concept under a culturalist perspective and focused on regional culture, including the development of associated measurement instruments.
