N2 - In Chile, in recent years, the interest in knowing the situation of the migrant population has increased. However, many of these studies need to pay more attention to their knowledge of the border areas. This led to the exploration of how education faces issues that have historically generated profound differences between citizens of Bolivia and Chile, such as the war conflict known as the “War of the Pacific..”This article rescues the contributions proposed by Professor Gustavo Rodríguez, contrasting it with the situation that currently characterizes the incorporation of Bolivian migrant students into Chilean classrooms. From a qualitative approach, this article explores the critical issues around the management of diversity in the educational system of Arica, based on the rescue of the contributions of educational authorities, teachers, Bolivian migrant students, and their parents, valuing the contemporaneity of Professor Rodríguez’s proposals.
