Resumen
The present qualitative research explores the appropriation of space by Aymara residents of a neighborhood in northern Chile.A total of 13 neighbors participated (8 Aymara and 5 non-Aymara). Based on a thematic analysis, the "Andean League" emerges as the central axis of the results, a place where its cultural and ancestral richness unfolds, and crystallizes the differentiation between Aymara and non-Aymara in community life in the neighborhood. As GONZÁLEZ AND CARRASCO (2016) have pointed out, the urban dwelling of the Aymaras preserves their cultural specificities, giving an account of their cultural adaptation. These elements should be considered in policies and public interventions aimed at promoting neighborhood life.
