Resumen
The aim of this article is to describe, from a macrosocio-linguistic perspective, the use of the Aymara language among Aymara people from Chile, Bolivia and Peru in the commercial event called 'Tripartite Fair'. In this fair, which takes place around the three-border milestone that marks the borders of the three mentioned national states, in a space associated with the Aymara ethnic group, in the Andean highlands, encounters and interactions occur each Sunday between the Aymara of those three different republican nationalities, motivated by the purchase or sale of food and essential items. The use of the Aymara language in these interactions is analyzed and verified in a space that is suitable for its use between interlocutors of the same ethnic group, but with different national identities. It is concluded that only a minority of the population of older adults, of the three countries, utilize a communicational space with that ethnic language.
