Resumen

The influence of 5 independent variables (sex, age, number of foreign grandparents, and indigeneity index) on intellectual performance of Chilean university students, measured through school record average and the scores of academic aptitude, IQ and partial aptitude tests, have been analyzed. The results show that the array of independent variables incorporated have a significant effect on school record average, IQ, and the partial test of word election. Among the independent variables, sex contributes 23% to determine school record average, 12% to determine IQ, and 14% to determine word election ability. Age, socioeconomic level, number of foreign grandparents, and indigeneity do not contribute substantially to determine the dependent variables.
