Abstract

Throughout history, women have waged tireless battles for their rights and challenged socially entrenched gender roles. Currently, significant challenges remain in Latin America, particularly in the tri-border region of Arica, Chile, where few studies exist to inform regional policies for women's development. This quantitative-descriptive characterization study was conducted through a survey administered in person and recorded digitally to 401 women in Arica, representing 98% of the region's population. The results highlight women's social situation, economic status, and interests, revealing patterns and trends that affect their development and well-being.
