Abstract

The objective of the research is to know and describe the interpretations made by obese schoolchildren in an educational establishment regarding their situation in any given day of their student life. The observation is based on a qualitative interactionist design that was developed during 10 months in a school composed of 772 people, among whom are officials and students. The results allow to distinguish three types of stories: the victimized, produced by those who point to being mocked and verbally assaulted, the discreet, from those who devalue the offenses and mockery received, and the impassive who do not consider themselves to be victims of prejudiced and stereotyped treatment by their school environment.
