Abstract
This article exposes rationality as the focus of strategic decisions, from its philosophical and sociological roots, as well as the approach to reality through the limitations to which decision-makers are exposed. Bounded rationality is analyzed as a sustentation for strategic decisions and its influence on the political behavior of decision makers. Finally, the context and intraorganizational characteristics that influence strategic decision-making are considered.
