Abstract
There is no doubt that scientific journals are fundamental in diffusion and knowledge construction. The fact that information access has been simplified, like never before, brings along, within several aspects, the challenge to systematize the abundant available knowledge. In this order, this paper has as main objective to analyse data from a group of scientific publications about Sports Science, indexed in Web of Science (Wos), Quintile 1. Using the words “Governance” y “Administration” the 20 journals with the highest impact index (JCR) within two years were selected. 1270 articles were examined within the Sport Sciences category, with the idea in mind of identifying publications in that area that included the above-mentioned terms. Results show little use as well as a precarious treatment of both terms. However, the concept of Administration is indeed widely used when refering to medical treatment implementation and preventions of sports injuries.
