Abstract
This article aims to demonstrate that the relationship between the right to honor and the freedoms of information and opinion (involving conflicting interests) is, conceptually, much more limited than traditional legal scholarship has understood. This holds true provided that the essential content of the right to honor is redefined from a legal perspective, moving beyond the conceptions that have hitherto dominated Chilean legal scholarship.
