Abstract
This research analyzes the representations about the differences between migrant students, depending on their origin, collected by the members of educational establishments of the city of Arica, context characterized by its situation bi-border. It is chosen for a qualitative approach. The collection of information combines focus groups and in-depth interviews. The encoding process was opened, and analyzed the content, from textual chains. The results indicate that the emergence of new migrant groups in the classrooms, from other latitudes, allows you to view the migrant phenomenon in the establishments, those who were invisible to traditional migrant students.
