Abstract

Interest groups (IG or stakeholders) or interested parties are made up of individuals and groups that are directly or indirectly affected by the activities and decisions of a given organization. Currently, the IGs occupy a central role in the planning and strategies of the different organizations, so it is necessary to carry out a work that allows the identification of the different IGs in distance higher education, in order to expose the relationship they have with the corresponding institutional governance. To achieve this purpose, different sources of information were reviewed, essentially academic articles and databases of indexed journals that deal with the subject. In general, the respective IGs are clearly recognized, but the importance of this recognition is also identified, when it comes to efficiently achieving organizational purposes.
