Abstract

The aim of this article is to study and to describe the governance typology inside of an Education Faculty in Chile. The research strategy is based on a case study. The results of the investigation suggest that in the analyzed case, a bureaucratic governance regime clearly predominates. It is also discovered that the management process has a more tactical perspective than strategic and more immediate action than long-range projection. Likewise, management focuses on undergraduate teaching, with postgraduate teaching and research only being optional actions.
