Elementos de inteligencia de negocios para el apoyo de toma de decisiones en la unidad de docencia del hospital regional ernesto torres galdames

At the Ernesto Torres Galdames Regional Hospital, in the city of Iquique, in the Tarapacá-Chile region, a solution was implemented based on the use of Business Intelligence tools, to support decision-making associated with information on professional internships. An analysis of the processes of the Teaching Unit was considered, to know its process model, make the selection of the tools to implement, establish the Extraction, Transformation and Loading processes, and the presentation of the data and reports. Based on the Kimball Methodology, a data mart was built, the use of which allowed the Teaching Unit to observe trends, numbers of registered students, and to better analyze and coordinate professional internships quotas.
